Coaches are an integral part of CASL and are the backbone to the success of the players, teams, and club. All CASL teams are required to have an adult (18 or older) Head Coach and may have up to two Assistant Coaches.
Coaches are appointed by the member clubs and serve at their pleasure.
All CASL coaches must obtain their USSF Grassroots 4v4, 7v7, 9v9, or 11v11 depending on the level and age group they are coaching. As a member of CASL and a direct member of the MSYSA, US Soccer provides coaches with the opportunity to take the ‘Grassroots Modules’, ‘D’ and ‘C’ License courses within the State. As a member of the United Soccer Coaches (previously NSCAA), MSYSA also provides other coaching education courses, which include 4 v 4, 7 v 7, 9 v 9 & 11 v 11 Modules, Goalkeeper Levels 1 to 3, National & Advanced National Courses.
